This is a fantastic watch. It is functional, sturdy, & alluring. The GA-100 models are some of the most appealing & versatile watches that Casio offers.
I received a fake several years back (NOT from Amazon) & having never previously owned a G-Shock, its authenticity was initially not under suspect.
I obliviously wore this imposterous gadget for a few months before becoming completely exasperated with its baffling time keeping inconsistencies. The hands would randomly change their positions when I used basic functions, so I’d have to reset them several times a week.
After I had my fill of this ridiculousness, I tossed it into an old shoebox & forgot all about it until it recently resurfaced.
Now that I own several G-shocks, my accrued familiarity helped me in recognizing that something wasn’t right (plastic crystal being a major telltale), & I soon knew it for what it was.
I decided to get the real artifact in order to remove the taste of artificial G-shock outta my mouth, & it did. Instantly.
This watch is a sight to behold & a joyance to wear. I have a 7 & 1/2 inch wrist & prefer larger watches, & the size did not disappoint. The detail & geometry within the dial are well done, as well as the deceptive simplicity of its operation.
Ain’t nothing like the real thing.

I bought this watch cuz I wanted to look good and be able to tell the time. I got it and it was boxed great. I put it on and I looked great! Then I realized…. I knew what time it was.

This G shock most definitely lives up to it’s heritage! I looked at many so called tough watches before this one. For the price it can’t be beat some that where a lot more expensive but none any tougher. My biggest problem is the back light not all that useful in the dark. It works but hard to see at just a glance. This was my first G shock and have been very pleased with it I’ve put it through some punishment given my profession. I’m a tradesman I’ve knocked banged and pulled it every way but loose! That band held together just fine like the 2 prong on the band gives it extra stability. Also have had it completely submerged in not.just water but muddy water and snow. The price is definitely right I reccomend it to anyone it def made for all those working men amd women out there or people enjoy the outdoors. Only drawback is setting it up it can get frustrating the manual helps but it is still tough get date and time just right. It’s also very comfortable espiccally given it’s size. All in all a wonderful gift for someone else or touself

To start off, I ordered this on a saturday evening, and received it via UPS on Tuesday around 7:00PM, and that was one-day shipping.
Anyways, the watch has some really cool functions, and looks amazing. I’ve owned $20 watches at Walmart/Meijer stores, Rolex, Omega, and I’ve recently been using an iPod Nano 6 with a white Nanotch(tm) watchband. The G-Shock has a white matte finish, and if you’re a student, or someone working at a cubicle and writes a lot, then it is a possibility that you could smear graphite (from the pencil or ink from pen) onto the watch, but you could wash it off with soap and water.
This watch is based off timezones to calculate the time, and it comes with a manual (timezones are at the last pages). The manual is in English, Spanish, and French I think b:
The hands move around based on what the digital display reads; you can turn on and off daylight saving time too. (Watch arrives in EST, NYC.) We all know that the watch is waterproof, shock-proof, anti-magnetic, so I don’t really need to say anything an those topics. You can change the backlight duration from 1.5sec – 3 sec, and it is pretty cool. There’s military time (24HR digital display) and the normal time (12HR) with a little PM that is in the top left corner of the left display, when it’s the afternoon. It has a really accurate stopwatch, with laps and a split. (Great for running and you don’t have to be worried when it rains, unless you have your phone) There’s a timer, which for some reason, only goes up to 24 minutes… you can adjust the duration. (You can set it to one time run/alarm, or a constant loop until you turn it off).
There are 26 world times; I have mine to London, and it works GREAT. (Takes like 2 seconds to calculate but I’m fine with that) It has 4 alarms; you press reverse or forward to stop them, a snooze (Like a wake-up alarm) and you press either reverse or forward to snooze it. Will come back on in like 3 mins, but you have to turn it off and on again to stop it.)
There’s an option to turn on hourly chime which beeps twice at every hour. You press reverse to turn on the backlight, and hold it down for 3 seconds to enable the auto-light when you tilt the watch 45°. The left circle on the upper half of the watch displays whether snooze, alarm, auto-light, or hourly chime is on. The middle has something to do with the stopwatch, you can see some accuracy in the timing (I guess xD) and the right circle… This I’m clueless on, but I think it also has to do with the stopwatch and stuff :).
The hour nobs are “glow-in-the-dark”, and, unfortunately, the hands don’t have an illuminating tab on them. The lower left display shows the time in digital form, press forward and it shows the date. The bottom right screen shows the day (eg: Mon as in Monday) and below it is the seconds. (Btw the hands are SUPER precise when they point at the little lines like for example, it is 1:00 or 13:00. The hands point exactly where they should be, and when the seconds reach around 30 seconds, the minute hand moves a tiny notch! Then, when it’s 1:01 or 13:01, it points normally.) The contrast on this watch is really nice; I’ve gotten tons of compliments… some of my friends are even jealous! This is my first G-Shock and I’m not disappointed! I LOVE the double-clasp band, doesn’t seem like it will come loose, the buttons have a nice texture, and I learned how to operate this watch in about 5 minutes (I was CLUELESS when I first got it, lol) The manual helps, and I HOPE my review helped you too! Relatively fast shipping, great watch, beast looks, best $100 I spent! This watch is part of the Japan Movement, and is housed/cased in China (I don’t care where it was manufactured :D) and I’m simply just impressed… the dial is pretty big, and it it looks beautiful. If you have any questions please ask! I will hopefully respond quickly 🙂
UPDATE NOVEMBER 2013: After using this watch for more than a year (Sept 29, 2012) I can say it’s still working fine! Battery life is (supposedly) 2 years… I don’t have any battery problems with mine! However, the paint is starting a chip slightly. I’ve gone snorkeling/scuba diving, dropped it many times off high places, FROZE MY WATCH, and many more rigorous tests… this thing is a tank! Some dirt and grime is starting to build up around the strap; it has a slight brown tint from my use. I don’t use auto-light at all really, and the snooze is somewhat quiet… so don’t use this as a primary alarm clock!
I love the stopwatch. It’s so freaking usefull and goes to the thousandths of a second! (ex: 12.345 seconds) Hopefully I will post a picture on this page to show what it looks like after all this time!

The watch is sturdy and the color is attractive. The watch came in a box with a cardboard insert. Not the tin that it shows in the advertisement. Also it doesn’t pass the three button test where when you press the three buttons at the same time the watch is supposed to light. This makes me unsure if the watch is real or a fake. It’s a nice looking watch and the price was affordable.

My son was very happy with his watch. Came in a nice tin.

I love G-Shocks! They’re accurate and dependable. Rugged and look good. And they don’t cost a fortune. Fairly easy to set with a bit of help from YouTube and the owner’s manual. Had to figure out how to set the DST (daylight savings time) feature to, “auto,” as it was initially an hour behind after I set it up, but only took a couple of minutes of tinkering. As a career railroader, who dislikes constantly synchronizing watches, these atomic (or radio controlled) watches are excellent.
The price was right – maybe around $70 after taxes. Added bonus, I love the contrast of the green on black. Have been a longtime fan of the band, “Type O Negative,” and I think this watch pays homage to them very well. Nice job, Casio!

Comfortable, stylish, utilitarian watch.
I use it to time my bike routes, alarms, and I really like how the bold colors and chunky profile look with my various outfits.
I take this watch off for showers by choice, but have slept with it on with no issues or scratching. This is a definitely a watch meant to be ridden hard and put away wet: I am loving every second of it

Preciso dizer algo? É um g shock

First I want to start by saying this watch looks amazing super stylish and is also amazing quality and super durable. The one issue I have with this watch is that the didgital part is not easy to read with low light and the one yellow led at the bottom doesn’t help to light that part up. The light numbers on dark backgrounds are all hard to see at night. But in the day I can always see it perfectly. I wish it had a backlight for that part. Other than that small issue that really isn’t that big for me because you can always see the analog clock part of it, I totally love this watch and sice buying this one I have already purchased 2 more g shocks and have another on the way and I am super excited to get it, I really recommend these watches if you like this style of watch, they don’t look cheap at all if thats what would make you hesitant to buy one. All my g shocks are super comfortable and even though they have a larger face it doesn’t bother me while wearing shirt sleeves over them. I really love these watches alot and if you think that the visibility of the digital watch part would bother you too much then you can buy one with a backlight or buy one that has dark numbers on a light background, those g shocks don’t have that issue at all. Hope this helps! Cheers!
