I have always been the guy that never wanted to spend a ton of money on a watch. Part of the reason is because I have a job where my watch was prone to constant damage and bruising. So like many folks I would go to Walmart and pickup a 15 dollar watch every year. I was going through watches at about that rate. Until about 2 years ago I saw a UPS driver wearing a G-shock watch (not the DW6900, but a different model). He went on to tell me all about the watch and how much he loved everything about it. From the design, to how well it fits on his wrist, but the most important aspect of all which is how durable, touch, and well built the watch is.
So after listening to him, I decided to purchase this G-shock and have never looked back. Everything about this watch is amazing. Simple in functions compared to more upscale G-Shocks, but for me that’s a plus. I don’t need to know sea levels or faces of the moon. I just need a timer for daily tasks and a Chronometer for exercise. Plus this watch has a fantastic feature that many digital watches no longer have, even the upscale time pieces: The feature is that no matter which watch mode you are in, the time is always displayed on the upper right portion of the screen. This may seem small in importance, but believe me when you get started using the watch you will wonder how you managed without the function in the first place. It makes it so convenient to not have to switch between modes just to know what time is it. I find it very strange how this function is not available on most digital watches now…
The only two minor complaints that I have about this watch are: 1-) If you have small wrists you may prefer the smaller model 5600 which is the all time classic still available, and fits much better on smaller wrists. 2-) The “G” imprint on the light button is not colored… Again this is a small dislike that to others may not think it is. In my opinion Casio could have colored it red for an extra 3 cents on the cost of the watch if that…
To wrap up the review, for the price of this watch there is no better watch out there. This watch will go through hell and back with you. You may not be as tough as this watch is. I recently had to replace my previous DW6900 of 15 years or so due to basically “dry rot” from it sitting.
Even with all of the OTHER newer models and the updated version of the DW6900, I chose to go BACK with my friend to resume its place in my collection.
It is durable, very functional, stylish and just a freakin’ cool watch.
If you don’t have one, get one. You WON’T be disappointed. And for the price? Fuhget-about it.

When I ordered the watch (21/09/24) it cost £51:28, it is now £50.70 (30/09/24). All my previous and current G-Shocks are dual analogue-digital watches, this is my first digital G-Shock. The build is good and solid, the watch is easy to set with decent functions. The digital face is clear and easy to read, it’s accurate and the backlight is clear in the dark. I was a bit disappointed that it came in a cardboard box, all my previous G-Shocks came in a metal tin. Like many fans of the G-Shock watches, this my fourth and I’m waiting for another digital watch to arrive from Amazon US. The collection is getting bigger and these watches are well built, robust, functional and they look good. Even though the latest price is slightly cheaper, I’m glad I bought it and at this price point I can’t complain. My best advice to any new G-Shock fan boy or fan girl is to shop around on various sites be it Amazon or elsewhere for the best/cheapest price.

This is a classic and beautiful G shock, it’s very comfortable, and looks great, the light it’s white and it match perfect with any ocasión.

So I’ll start with the Positive and then list the negatives.
Positives
A good watch for the price. I work for a general contractor as an engineer and do some office work and some field work. I have definitely given the watch it’s fair share of bumps and beatings and it is still in good shape. About as good as when I bought it other than some scratches on the plastic and screen. I have shot shotcrete, and bumped it on steel crawling up and down steel structures, caught it on rebar and tie wire and bumped it up against concrete. I’ve also had it submerged in water doing dishes and swimming. Durability wise it’s a good watch. I bought it in late 2009 or early 2010 and I haven’t had to change the battery in it yet. I also like the light. Very helpful when you work in tunnels with very little light and you are trying to do a time study. The wrist band is like a plastic/rubber material and it latches like a belt does. Which is good incase it ever got caught on some moving equipment it should rip the watch off before it drags your hand into the equipment and rips your arm off.
Negatives
It is pretty thick. It catches on shirts when putting them on or taking them off. Like I said it snagged on rebar and tie wire when I was surveying and performing layout.
If you’re looking for a watch with a million features this one is fairly basic. It has the date and time and gives you the day of the week. Along with a few other features like stop watch, count down, single alarm.

This watch has everything that one could need in a daily watch.
Things I like:
1. It has an alarm, stop clock, and a countdown timer. I know that it may not have dual time but sometimes it’s good that it doesn’t have that if you do not need it. But what’s great is that there are other G-Shocks that offer dual time.
2. This watch looks/feels beefy but not overly beefy. It does look like it can take a couple good hits and survive.
3. The price. $54 for a watch with more features and more durable than a couple thousand dollar luxury watch? Yes please!
4. Set up and changing the times are pretty easy. Though I would recommend watching a Youtube video.
5. Easy to mod. If you are not a fan of the color of the bezel and strap, you can go on eBay or other website and buy cheap mod parts and change the watch to match your style.
Things I do not like:
1. The only thing I am not a fan of are the 3 circles above the time that show the seconds. They could have removed it and made the display bigger so the numbers are bigger and/or show more information.
Other than the 1 thing I do not like, it is a great daily watch for both the outdoor and even the office.

De longe este DW 6900 e o mais bem acabado, mais robusto, mais bonito e bem acertado relógio dos que eu tenho.
Fiquei impressionado com a qualidade do material e a robustez do relógio.
Botões macios, fácil de manusear, sem frescura, definitivamente não pertecence a essa geração Nutella de relógios que vemos por aí.
Tamanho médio, para grande, diria um pouco maior que um DW 5600, em pulsos muito finos ele parecerá bem maior do que eh.
A entrega foi super rápida, veio muitíssimo bem embalado, embalagem do relógio intacta, o serviço de entrega exemplar.
Foi minha melhor compra em relógios na Amazon. Recomendo o vendedor e o produto (original) com certeza!!
