Overall this is a decent watch at this price point. Solar charging/recharging is good so far. Readability of the analog dial is excellent, but the digital display is a bit small. The features of this watch are quite good – you can even adjust the time the light stays on, from 1-3 seconds. I haven’t had it long yet, but I would expect it to be fairly durable.
The digital display is pretty small. As a consequence, the DAY can be displayed, but not with the DATE. Instead Casio has inexplicably included SECONDS. When switching mode on the display to DATE, the DAY is similarly not displayed (again you get seconds). This is annoying and it seems this could have been easily remedied in design.
Although this is an inexpensive watch, the hands and select makers have a basic Lume applied, which actually works pretty well. This is a nice add-on for a watch at this price point.
My watch arrived in excellent/pristine condition with all tags, manuals, and boxes. It appears to be a genuine Casio, not a knockoff. Overall here are the pros and cons:
PROS
– Inexpensive
– Solar powered
– Nice analog time keeping with small digital supplement for day/date, stopwatch, etc.
– Decent adjustable light
– Decent hand and marker Lume.
– Overall good build quality and features at this price point.
CONS
– Small date display that is a bit hard to read.
– DAY and DATE cannot be simultaneously displayed in the digital screen. A mode change is necessary to get both.
Overall a really good product for the price. I’d prefer to give it 4.5 stars, but I’ve rounded up to 5 considering how inexpensive it is.

I was lucky enough to receive a Casio AQ-S800W which has remarkable accuracy, gaining only about 5 seconds each month (spec is +/-30 sec/month). It also looks great. It is more understated and smaller than the version which has the screws showing. This module is perhaps the best one Casio make for their budget watches. It is accurate, solar-powered and fun to use. Despite what other reviews say, setup is simple as is scrolling each day to use the features. I enjoy how you can check the battery status. You can cycle digital time, day or date. In darkness the digital display goes to sleep but wakes up as soon as there is light or you need it. The way the hands are synchronized to the digital display is neat. There is even a feature to re-align them. This is an amazing watch. Light, comfortable and a lot of fun to play with. For the black and orange model sold here, only the hands are luminous. For the black and white version, the numbers are luminous too. Oh, it also has the world time feature and two countdown timers! It lacks the world map of course but it can do pretty much everything the Casio Royale can including the quick dual-button time zone swap.

La verdad me gusta mucho este reloj muy minimalista, funciona con luz solar, lo único complicado fue poner la hora pero está muy bueno

If you’re like me and you like the look of a Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch combined with digital accuracy and a FOREVER battery, then this watch is a MUST, especially at 39 percent off list!!! I owned a Tag Heuer Formula 1 watch for about 8 years when the battery ran out for the third time. In this post-lockdown era of skilled labor shortages, your only option for getting a new battery installed is to send it back to the Tag USA headquarters in NJ. So I did that and to my surprise after waiting over a month, they said it would cost over $300 to replace the battery and perform maintenance on all of the seals. No thanks – this Casio is a much better value, with the perpetual solar battery (watch came fully charged), sharp Formula 1 looks, and the digital accuracy. I was amazed when I first set the time on the watch: you set the correct time zone and then the time automatically is set by satellite. The really amazing part is that the minute and hour hands then automatically synced themselves to the correct time – I have never seen that before. In fact, you can’t even set the hands manually. What an incredibly good-looking watch and accurate for the price. It’s also really lightweight and thinner so not clunky, and with my thinner wrists, the diameter is just right! Lastly, the luminescence of the dials is adequate — I can see the time in pitch black darkness but it’s not strong. And as others have mentioned, the LED screen is a tad small and hard to read when the hands are in the vicinity. The only real weakness: the mineral glass already shows an abrasion line after just under a month. Sapphire mineral glass it is not, but then for the price, you can’t get a better deal overall than this!

Really dig this watch!!
Whether you’re looking for a work watch or a casual everyday watch, this Casio Tough Solar fits the bill nicely. The band is very comfortable, the watch wears like a G-Shock, it’s a bigger watch on the wrist, but not overly bulky, just has that sweet bigger watch presence without being cumbersome. The Tough Solar battery if kept on high should last you longer than you’ll ever want to wear it. The analogue is easy to read, though to note, the digital display will challenge older eyes – without our glasses on. The watch is light and priced right. Would make a perfect gift for a young person as well – I bought a couple. Would recommend.

Uso óculos bifocais, por isso comprei esse Casio analógico que dá pra enxergar bem à noite, mesmo sem óculos. Além disso com bateria solar e resistente a água. Muito bom! E o atendimento também, muito bom! Recomendo a todos!

A picture of how it lights at night would kill all sales if anyone needs a good readable watch in the dark with a lighted dial as the description says. Just the little LCD insert lights up so it shows just the day and seconds. I guess the date of the day can’t fit in the little rectangular LCD insert. I collect watches and this Casio Tough Solar is a superb analog dial watch for working with. This one is solar, so the price is good for that feature, as most Casios may be quartz battery types. This one is for an off shore sea worker so it will stand up to the tough work he does. I wore my Casio, a digital solar, for 14 years now and I build, work hard and these watches from Casio can last surprisingly long. Other brand watches would finally give out for one reason or another as a work watch. The price for this one is affordable for a simple but tough watch that will last over a decade, maybe two.

Owned for a week.
Is it perfect?
No . . . BUT VERY GOOD FOR THE MONEY!!!!
PROS:
Great watch for the money so far.
I wanted a basic analog watch with added digital features and solar-powered.
This fits the bill perfectly for me at least.
1. Very easy to read at a glance.
2. Analog time syncs with digital readout.
3. A relatively large face but not too large for me.
4. Actual mineral/glass crystal.
5. Very light weight on the wrist which is ok.
6. Strap is rubber/ plastic with a nice curve to fit the wrist well.
7. EASY SETUP if people take the time to follow the instructions and familiarize themselves
with all functionality of the watch. I don’t use all the functions. Just use the functions you need
and forget about the rest.
8. Perpetual Calendar based on the correct location, time zone, day, date and YEAR!
You never have to adjust watch for short or long months.
9. Solar-powered with a 10-month power reserve so it says. AMAZING.
10. Never have to buy a battery.
11. Affordable . . not the end of the world if it gets lost, stolen or damaged.
12. Deadly accurate time keeping. I set this one to the online World clock and then
set my other 26 watches to this one.
13. It is a Casio with decent reputation. I have a Casio Edifice Quartz that is my daily watch
for 6 years now and it runs flawlessly. I just put in a new battery once a year. $10.00.
14. Case seems fairly tough and rises above the crystal for added protect when bumping into things.
CONS: (Really minor)
1. Lume is not great and does not last long enough.
Not really a big deal for me.
Just a comment.
2. Back Light only illuminates the tiny digital lower panel . . . not the whole watch face.
Would be really nice if all manufacturers could come up with a nice
full face backlight like Casio’s own EL system on their digital only faces
or the Timex Indiglo idea.
3. Just nit picking here and personal preference.
I would prefer a solid minute hand instead of the skeletonized one.
Not a big deal.
4. Would be nice if it had Atomic Timing but that would increase price
and I understand that.
Love it so far.
Will provide an updated review if anything changes.

Great watch so far solar recharging works great easy to see and read and works great for what I want pretty much being able to see the time and date really don’t use any of the other functions on the watch very comfortable band seems very sturdy and well made I have had a number of these style watches over the past several years and really enjoy them but they last about a year or year and a half and either the strap breaks or the battery runs out This Casio so far seems much sturdier than the cheaper watches I have owned and the solar powered battery will allow it to last several years so for me its just what I wanted a simple watch that is easy to read, looks good and should last me for 10 years or more just what I wanted and at a very reasonable price for what you get in the watch will update after I’ve had it a few years to see how it actually holds up but so far seems excellent and a great buy
