Still going strong in 2024, 6 years old, never an issue. Very readable,. Excellent quality and battery life. I now own additional Casio watches based on my respect for this one, my first.

From the G Shock stable this digital watch is reliable and practical. Great price and worth waiting for delivery from U.S. Just be aware the digital clock display is quite small so may not be suitable for everyone.

I tend to be hard on watches. Casio watches are known for their water resistance, shock resistance and fairly long battery life (all three major things I look for when buying a new watch). Having torn up several $ 300-400 watches over the years I was glad to find this reasonably priced and still look good enough to wear during my daily activities. Just what I needed. Will probably buy a second one to have as a backup.

Watch is nice but display is very small even struggling to watch the time.

I’m very happy with this Casio watch. I’m a long time wearer/user of Casio wrist watch and have always been happy with them. One problem I had with previous models was the display being changed while wearing it simply from the exposed buttons on the side being pushed by the sleeves of my welding jacket. This watch doesn’t have that problem since the buttons are protected from accidental pushing. The only drawback I have found with this watch, which is certainly not Casio’s fault, is the fact that the UHF frequency of a TIG machine will actually fry the watch when exposed to it for prolonged periods. Simple fix is to take it off before TIG welding.

This is the 2nd time I’ve purchased this watch.

The 1st lasted 8 yrs, survived two infantry deployments to include a combat deployment, survived countless high velocity impacts with hard surfaces, and sustained only a few minor scratches on the lens in the process. The high lens glass toughness compared to most phone screens is a credit to Casio and an embarrassment for phone manufacturers.

Over the years most of the logo and label letter paint rubbed out. They’re textured and still legible up close. The watch band never sustained any visible damage.

I only had to change the battery once the entire time I owned it.

When it broke, it was only because the water resistant seals had finally wore out, and I showered while wearing it. The lens subsequently fogged up from the inside. An hour or so later the watch shorted out. If I hadn’t exposed it to that concentrated humidity in its old age, I’m confident it would have lasted quite a bit longer. It had been showered with and fully submerged in corrosive pool and rain water countless times with no difficulties during the first 5 yrs of its life.

It has a number of easily accessible and useful built in features to include a stop watch and alarm. Once one gets used to these features he or she can easily use the audible beep feature to, for instance, switch from clock mode to stopwatch mode and start/stop the stopwatch without looking at the watch.

I’ve used the glow feature many times as a subtle makeshift flashlight during training for quick reading in the dark to minimize the risk of too much light being a target indicator. It worked well and didn’t seem to significantly reduce the battery life.

The lack of reflective metallic surfaces makes it an ideal infantry watch. It’s high durability and stopwatch makes it an ideal watch for a gym environment.

Overall it’s an impressive combination of low cost, high quality, durability and utility.

I wore a Casio DW-5600 for many years but the buttons can be a bit hard to press. I finally decided to try this watch which operates pretty much like the DW-5600 but has larger buttons. When I run I can start and stop the stopwatch function how without having to take it off my wrist. I was worried that the larger size might be a problem, but so far its been fine. In fact, the way the band is attached makes this watch conform to the wrist a bit better than the DW-5600 so it’s actually pretty comfortable. That said, it’s a G-Shock so you have to know going in that it will bunch up shirt sleeves and that’s just the way it is. I like that this is a simple watch. It pretty much tells time, has an alarm a count down timer and a stop watch and nothing more. If you need an ABC watch then this isn’t for you, but if you just need a good time keeper that can survive a bomb blast this is a good watch. As far as accuracy goes, I set it to the time on my computer (which is synced to NIST) down to the second. a couple of weeks later is it about two seconds off so that should work out to about 4-5 seconds a month. My other G-Shock is just as accurate so who need fancy satellite GPS 6 Band non-sense. Just set it and forget it!

  10. This blanket is the best blanket i’ve ever had! Definitely recommend.

This watch is probably one of the best watches. I’ve had definitely a good purchase and worth the money. The buttons work great the timer works great. It is accurate on time.

It has very nice colors, is very useful and super durable. It doesnt feel too heavy on the hand and it is great for long time usage and very comfortable. Very recommanded!

It’s a comfortable watch that hasn’t let me down yet. I wear it every day because it helps me keep track of time and it can really take a beating. It has some paint scratches in stuff that are my fault but no damage Has been done to the watch plus you can where it in pools of hot tubs. Great watch it has all the normal watch features but it’s also durable.

  13. TheBronze

Excellent retro looking G Shock..good price and can take a beating.
