Loved this bag, in the pictures.. unfortunately, when it arrived, I was disappointed. It was a little smaller than I thought. But, the biggest disappointment was the hard, shiny leather.. it almost had a plastic appearance. Then the corner seams were finished off in an odd way that left them protruding on the sides.
I’ve bought Coach bags for years.. I just didn’t think this one lived up to their name.

This bag is a thing of beauty and exceptional quality. I mean, it’s a Coach bag. It’s over the top in every way. I do feel like the size is a bit overstated as far the pictures go so make sure you look at the measurements. It is small. This is not a “Mom” bag that holds all the “better to have and not need than need and not have” items those of us with kids usually tote around. The quality is impeccable, the stitching perfect. The metal is silver, which I prefer. It’s extremely stiff and will likely stay that way. I question the price somewhat, as Coach has much larger, nicer bags that don’t have such a hefty tag. While this bag is extremely nice just be realistic on how you want to use it before purchasing. It’s a luxury bag for sure but not an every day bag.

I have quite a few black bags but this looked as though it would hold more stuff than a couple of them, and I liked the strap, since one of my Italian bags is having trouble with the strap clasps. In general, this bag does not disappoint, though it is not a bargain, hence taking away one star.
The leather is quite stiff and the finish not too shiny but not matte either, which makes it versatile. The metal is all silver colored, which is nice for those who want to steer clear of gold finishes. The zipper is sturdy, but also has a slight industrial look to it. The “C” for the Coach name that surrounds the clasp is subtle enough, and the clasps for the shoulder strap are very thick and sturdy. The magnets are the strongest I’ve ever encountered–one of the two open sides closes with a magnet and the other side, with the clasp. In the center is the zippered pocket, the most secure part of the bag. I have a large, long wallet and it just fits inside the zippered compartment. A smaller wallet would leave room for keys or a passport or something else that needs extra security.
There is no separate lining. The leather on the inside is the unfinished back of the outside leather. Inside one of the open sections is a small tan leather tab sewn on that seems to be the certification that the bag is a true Coach bag. It also allows for a pen to slide down into it.
This bag doesn’t have as many storage features as at least one other high end bag I have, but it has a dressier look. Still, I don’t think I would take it for anything fancier than dinner at a nice restaurant because it’s too big. But it is not big enough to hold a tablet, maybe just a Kindle or small book or journal.

I think the two details that stand out the most with this Coach bag are the closure magnets and the zipper.
The zipper is luxuriously smooth to operate.
And I’ve never seen magnets implemented in quite this way before.
It’s great that the (very strong) magnets are covered; it’s easier to pull them apart that way.
There’s enough space in this bag for two novels–one for each side. Three if you put one inside the zipped pocket. The bag also comes with its own nightie–a satiny bag to store it when you’re not out on the town.
One thing I don’t understand is the side seams that stick out.
Maybe this is a choice born of the stiff fabric used for this bag? I’m not sure.
Isn’t it a sign of craftsmanship to sew seams on the inside of pieces?

I don’t think I’ve seen a Coach purse of this size and shape before. It is just the perfect in-between size, plus a roomy shape that will hold all the necessities. And I always appreciate a compartment that zippers shut for security. The bag reminds me of a bag from the 60’s; I can imagine Audrey Hepburn carrying it. The satchel style is very feminine but the strap is good-back up when you need both hands free. I was dubious at first that the purse was made of leather because it is so smooth and shiny, and these days so many items are “faux” or “vegan” leather. However, I did a quick little test to verify and it is indeed leather. Despite that, the bag is lightweight. As with all Coach purses, the latches, zippers and various fittings are well- made and designed to last. The little feet on the bottom are so thoughtful because you are not going to want to let this beautiful leather hit the floor or dirty tables. All in all, I love it!
